Department of Digital Humanities

The Department of Digital Humanities is an international leader in the application of technology in the arts and humanities, and in the social sciences. The Department is dedicated to furthering the possibilities of computing for arts and humanities scholarship and, in collaboration with local, national and international research partners across the disciplines, to design and build applications which implement these possibilities, in particular those which produce online research publications.

The Department of Digital Humanities offers a number of different programmes at postgraduate level. The Department runs its own MA in Digital Humanities, is responsible for the MA programme in Digital Culture and Society and the MA in Digital Asset and Media Management with the Centre for e-Research. It is one of only three departments in the UK to offer MA programmes in Digital Humanities and the first to offer a PhD in Digital Humanities. It has also recently launched an undergraduate degree in Digital Culture which covers topics such as social media, gaming, digital memory, economy, politics and more.
