Out of the Wings. Spanish and Spanish American Theatre in Translation and Performance

The Project

'Out of the Wings. Spanish and Spanish American Theatre in Translation and Performance' was a three-year AHRC collaboration between King's College London, Queen's University Belfast and the University of Oxford which aimed to make the riches of the theatres of Spain and Spanish America accessible to English-speaking researchers and theatre professionals.

The 'La entretenida' digital was the result of collaboration between John O’Neill, of the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies and a team from the Department of Digital Humanities led by Paul Spence—and which formed part of a completed doctoral research project entitled 'Cervantes’s La entretenida: Translation, Performance and a Digital Edition', carried out by John O’Neill, under the supervision of Professors Catherine Boyle and Julian Weiss, and nested within the larger project.

The Out of the Wings Dataset makes available the following resources:

  • The main project files (prefixed 'ootw') represent a dump of the database for Out of the Wings
  • The 'La Entretenida' files (prefixed 'entre') represent a dump of XML files and documentation relating to the 'La Entretenida' digital edition
